Some more information on upcoming Guerlain releases, and their name is a legion. First up, "Travel" trio of fragrances, Moscow, New York and Tokyo:

Moscow, described as ultra-feminine, has notes of pine needles, absinthe, cranberry, bergamot, jasmine, tonka, sandal, vanilla, white musk.

New York, inspired by NYC at Christmas and described as fresh, green, sparkling and sweet, has notes of mandarine, bergamot, pink berries, chestnut, cinnamon, orange blossom, cedar, patchouli, white musk

Tokyo- subtle, refined, fresh and clean, has notes of green tea, jasmine, violet, vanilla, hinoki.

Sophie: pettigrain, bitter orange, bergamot, orange blossom, jasmine, violet, ylang-ylang, tonka bean, incense, vanilla, white musk. Apparently, this fragrance will be available in bottles of different color to choose from.

Thierry Wasser is coming out with a new perfume that has the code name "Gold." It will be released in the US in Spring, 2010.

Oh so exciting, I can't wait to try them all! I'm also looking forward to trying the Mitsouko flanker, Mitsouko Fleur de Lotus. Have you seen/tried it?

S,
I don't know if it's exciting. There are too many of them, can they be good? We'll see. I have Mitsouko FdeL on right now, like it, reminds me of...can't figure it out...31 Rue Cambon, perhaps...

Oh, Moscow and New York sound like they have wonderful potential! Tokyo...maybe. And I have reservations about a scent which comes in different color bottles. A bit gimmicky? OK, back pedaling some because I adored the Kenzo Amour bottles that Karim Rashid designed and that came in three colors...but, in general, this seems like something Paris Hilton would do. Not Guerlain.

L,
Funny thing, a dear friend and I almost totally predicted what the three travel scents would be like, just going by names. Agree about different colored bottles, although I'd love for us to be proved wrong, very, very wrong.

Can't wait to try. Now that I officially love Guerlain ... it only took what, 2 yrs of perfumista-ing?

Sniffed the Mitsouko flanker @ Sniffa. Echoed Mitsy in a pleasant but light sort of way. Must retry when I don't have Mitsouko parfum up my nose.

M,
I don't have very high hopes but am looking forward to being proved wrong. Mitsouko flanker is surprisingly pleasant.

The Sophie bottles are all the same color. In fact the bottles are very beautiful. The labels are different colors, as are the tags around the neck.

The Guerlain event at Alfredo's was fantastic. There was a complimentary brunch with champagne, and the event ended with the presentation of a generous fragrance gift to all attendees. The entire Guerlain line was beautifully and lovingly described by Raymond Western, head of Guerlain's Education Department, accompanied by an informative and pleasing slide show. In front of the room was a magnificent showcase of Guerlain fragrances, including testers of the new collection, artfully composed by the talented and artistic Jason Beers. Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Jason knows what a joy he is to deal with. His smile lit up the entire room! I had the good fortune to sit next to Jason's mom. Now I know from whom he inherited his enthusiasm, warmth and joie de vivre!
