Sourpuss...Oranges and Lemons Say The Bells of St.Clements by Heeley

By Tom

Notes: orange, lemon, earl grey tea and bergamot.

Okay I get that it's a new version of a vintage mens cologne and very English. But it's supposed to be an eau de parfum and it's nigh unto gone in about 10 minutes. How much is Eau Sauvage running these days?

$148 for 100ML at Luckscent

10 minutes? At these prices??? Yeesh! Sounds nice but even the really, really cheap citrus colognes do better than that!

Donna-

Pretty much. I could smell it if I buried my nose in my arm and opened my mind to the possibility but really...

My WV is "chyper" wish this had more "chyper" in there...

Well, I love this one, and agree it's gone very quickly. I got an hour from it. The reason, I believe, is that it's very natural and is almost entirely top notes. Petigrains don't last long and are top notes (with a few exceptions, there are a couple that linger). So I suspect this is meant as a cooling spritz for a hot day, and yes, it's pretty expensive for that. I recommend getting some excellent petigrain and citrus eos and adding them to alcohol for your own summer spritzer! It would cost you under $15.

Oh, wow, I really loved the drydown on this and it lasted a pretty long time on me. Yes, the citrus blast is gone quickly but the remaining clean-skin aspect was very nice - not soapy at all.

I have Heeley Verveine and while it's lovely, it too is completely gone within 15 mins. Not even a trace is left. Very disappointing since the bottle was $136 + shipping from Barneys. Ouch.

Good idea on the summer spritzer!

What's left is nice on me, just not at that price point. 50% stronger and I'd pop for it.

So .... you didn't like it?

The name lasts longer than the scent....

I did like it. It was the Olfactus Interruptus partion of the program I didn't like. This puppy needs scent Cialis..

olfactus interruptus is the word, and I can't stop thinking of the monster in my skin that transforms some of the best acclaimed fragrances into interruptus indeed.:-)

Well, if you loved it, and had to rspritz every 10 minutes, and replace your bottle every 10 days, think how well-heeled Heeley would be by summers end.

I don't know what that is; I think I tend to have it as well..

Heeley would be well heeled indeed. I'd be living in a cardboard box behind LuckyScent though..

tmp00,

if you know the fragrance muffling monster then you know the fear of anything delightfully airy, which may just fleetingly visit your skin for minutes and leave you quasi naked, frgrance wise. Carnal Flower is demure on me, and Cedre Sandaraque a whiff of quality. :-(
